About Us
Who We Are
Amitus Basic Percussion, LLC is dedicated to enhancing the love for music through drums.
By providing high-quality drum lessons, we specialize in personalized instruction for children aged 6-10 and aim to cultivate a love for music and rhythm in young learners.
Through interactive drum circle seminars, we strive to foster community building and a sense of togetherness through the power of percussion for school-age groups as well as business organizations.
About Your Instructor
Who I Am
Music has been an integral part of my life, even when I was not actively playing. I am a self-taught percussionist that gained my foundation in percussion from my musical upbringing and playing in my high school band. I spent several years away from formally playing music until I began playing professionally in 2011. Music has been very rewarding for me and it has opened up many opportunities that I would otherwise not have had. I hope that through teaching others, I can pay it forward and pass those rewards on for generations to come.

Drum Lessons
The Program
The ABP instructional program provides 3 phases of graduating instruction from rudimentary basics to playing a basic kit.
Instructional Phases
Phase 1: We All Begin Here
No matter experience level, all students begin at the beginning. This phase teaches (or reviews) the basics of stick handling, posture, rudiments, and tempo control.
Phase 2: Movin' On Up
In this phase, we move on to learning to split attention while playing with other rhythmic sounds through drum cadences.
Phase 3: Let's Rock the Kit
In this final phase of the program, students learn the basics of playing a drum kit. Students will learn different basic drum kit beats, playing along with different songs, and learning the art of improvisation and "ad libbing."
Drum Circle Seminars
The Program
ABP would like to also introduce Drum Circle Seminars as a new addition to our instructional program.
About the Program
Through interactive drum circle seminars, we strive to foster community building and a sense of togetherness through the power of percussion for school-age groups as well as business organizations.
My drum circle seminar program is designed with an intentional purpose of providing a basic understanding of rhythm, tempo, and technique, for participants to build on what they learn throughout the program, and to also establish an awareness of the importance and understanding of teamwork. This is a team building experience for children and adults alike.
This program is intended to be beneficial for participants that have different levels of music ability whether it be no musical experience at all or extensive abilities. Each participant should embrace the fact that repetition is the foundation for success.
At its essence, music—particularly percussion— goes beyond the understanding of music theory. It is an art form that requires practice and dedication. But, most importantly, it should be fun because fun and enjoyment are a very big part of this learning experience.
